For plastic parts, beyond accuracy, the behaviour of the material is decisive: thermal expansion, flexibility, moisture absorption and burr formation. That is why we use tool geometry designed for plastic machining.
We handle plastic machining with an engineering mindset: we start from the function and installation, and align the construction, tolerances and technology accordingly.
We manufacture plastic parts with CNC machining, including turning and milling. We select the technology so that the material is not overheated, using emulsion cooling or cooled-air cooling, the surface does not smear, and critical fits can be maintained.
We also adapt the operation sequence and workholding to the specific characteristics of plastics, because excessive heat input and improper clamping can lead to warping and dimensional error.
+1 tip
For plastics, it is rarely worth requesting “metal-like” tolerances for every dimension: due to thermal expansion and moisture absorption, overly tight tolerances often only increase cost without improving function.
Custom plastic parts are worth machining when accurate fit, short lead time or small-batch production is required. Typical parts include sliding and guide elements, bushings, spacers, cover elements and assembly aids. The exact application is determined by the specific material and operating environment.
Before manufacturing, we clarify the critical points, such as fits, surfaces and mounting, and if needed, we also provide a material recommendation, so the part not only matches the required dimensions but also works reliably after installation.
+1 tip
If there is a metal counterpart, such as a shaft or housing, it is worth specifying or bringing that as well: this makes it much easier to set the fit and sliding surface correctly the first time.
We review the critical dimensions, fits and surfaces, and clarify the installation environment.
Based on the requirements, such as load, wear, corrosion and heat, we recommend the material and raw material form.
Based on the workholding and operation sequence, we prepare the production program.
CNC turning and/or CNC milling adapted to the task, with stable workholding and a repeatable process.
We check the critical dimensions; if needed, 3D measurement also supports verification.
We hand over or deliver the finished part in the agreed form, with the necessary identification and documentation.
